Community and Partnerships
One of Tulsa’s best qualities is its easy access to community organizations. From Jewish institutions to local organizations created to promote events, networking and fostering common interests and hobbies. There’s something for everyone to get plugged in and connected.
Being Jewish in Tulsa
Chabad Tulsa
Chabad-Lubavitch is a philosophy, a movement, and an organization. It is considered to be the most dynamic force in Jewish life today.
The word “Chabad” is a Hebrew acronym for the three intellectual faculties of chochmah—wisdom, binah—comprehension and da’at—knowledge. The movement’s system of Jewish religious philosophy, the deepest dimension of G‑d’s Torah, teaches understanding and recognition of the Creator, the role and purpose of creation, and the importance and unique mission of each creature. This philosophy guides a person to refine and govern his or her every act and feeling through wisdom, comprehension and knowledge.
The word “Lubavitch” is the name of the town in White Russia where the movement was based for more than a century. Appropriately, the word Lubavitch in Russian means the “city of brotherly love.” The name Lubavitch conveys the essence of the responsibility and love engendered by the Chabad philosophy toward every single Jew.
Tulsa Hillel
Tulsa Hillel supports students across the Tulsa metro area, including those at TU, NSU, TCC, OSU–Tulsa, OSU–CHS, and the OU Tulsa programs, as part of Oklahoma Hillels. It offers a welcoming hub for Jewish life, learning, and community. Regular activities include home-cooked Shabbat dinners every other Friday, a biweekly bagel nosh, and holiday gatherings. More than a place for meals and services, Tulsa Hillel serves as a home away from home where students feel heard and supported.

The Synagogue | Congregation B'nai Emunah
As one of the oldest Jewish institutions in Oklahoma, B'nai Emunah is a self-confident religious center committed to constant experimentation. What a newcomer is likely to notice first is the sense of forward movement. That, and a prevailing pattern of warmth, generosity, and inclusiveness. There is no preoccupation with governance or policy-making, but rather a pattern of holistic acceptance. B'nai Emunah welcomes individuals and families in the process of defining a Jewish style that brings meaning, richness, and joy. Interfaith families and Jews by Choice are essential parts of the community and B'nai Emunah is eager to offer welcome and home. There is a conscious commitment to making newcomers feel affirmed and valued. As a progressive congregation affiliated with United Synagogue, B'nai Emunah is in the midst of continuing self-renewal.

Tulsa Tours
When a Jewish New York transplant listed tours on Airbnb in 2019, little did he realize it would grow into Oklahoma’s largest tour company. Tulsa Tours offers weekly walks of the downtown tunnels and Art Deco architecture. Seasonal tours like true crime and haunted history are also popular while OKC Tours and Norman Tours are part of the company’s growing portfolio. Fun fact: Tulsa Tomorrow was Tulsa Tours’ first client.
